About California Green Roofing
About us, the Los Angeles roofer you can drive to
We are a family run roofing company with a yard in Reseda and crews working across Los Angeles. You can look our licence up, drive to our gate, and meet the people who will be standing on your roof. That is the entire idea.

A yard, not a call centre

The Reseda yard, and why we tell you where it is
Most roofing enquiries in this city arrive at a call centre and get sold on to whoever is free. Ours arrive at a building with a gate, a materials rack, and trucks that leave from it every morning.

Our yard in Reseda, Los Angeles
One yard, one crew, and that is the whole company. There is no second office, no franchise, and nobody between you and the crew. When you call, someone in that building answers.
The roof over the shop was laid by the same crew that will be on yours. We rebuilt it the year we moved in, using the same underlayment and the same fastening pattern we specify for customers, because a roofer whose own building leaks has nothing to sell.
From that gate we cover Los Angeles and the surrounding areas, from the coast through the Valley and out to the foothills. Reseda is where the trucks sleep, not the limit of where they go.
Open 7:00 to 22:00, every day of the week, including weekends.
Licensed since day one under CSLB 1100046, bonded and insured.
One crew per job, from tear off to final sweep. No subcontracted labour.

The roll call
03 / 08
Who is actually on your roof
Every roof is worked by one crew from the first shingle off to the last sweep of the driveway. These are the roles on that crew and what each one is answerable for.
Foreman
Owns the job. Sets the day, signs off every stage, and is the one number you call while work is running.
Tear off
Strips the old covering and clears it to the skip the same day. Nothing is left on the roof overnight.
Deck and dry in
Inspects the sheathing, replaces what is soft, and gets the underlayment down so the house is watertight before anyone goes home.
Flashing
Valleys, walls, chimneys and every penetration. This is where roofs actually leak, so it is the slowest part of the week and the least negotiable.
Finish and sweep
Ridge, trims, magnet sweep of the whole property, and the photo set that goes to you before the crew leaves.
The same five roles turn up on a roof repair as on a full roof replacement. Only the length of the week changes.

How we run a job on your street
A roof is a week of noise, dust and heavy traffic outside somebody’s front door. These five rules are how we keep that from being your problem, and they are the same on every job.

Protection down before tear off
01
Protection goes down first. Tarps over planting, board over the driveway, and covers on anything that cannot be moved. It happens before a single shingle comes off.
02
One skip, and it sits on boards. Placed where we agreed with you, never on the lawn, and never blocking a neighbour without asking them first.
03
Swept every evening, not just at the end. A rolling magnet goes over the drive, the path and the lawn before the crew leaves, every day the job runs.
04
Photographed as we go. Deck condition, flashing details and the finished courses. You get the set whether or not anything went wrong, because that is the point of having it.
05
Your neighbours hear it from us. The foreman knocks either side the morning we start, leaves a number, and tells them which days will be loud.

The green in our name
05 / 08
Why we went green early, and what it does in your attic
We moved to reflective, energy smart materials years before California made most of it mandatory. Not for the name. Because of what a dark roof does to the air above your ceiling in a Valley August.
Attic air on a 95 degree afternoon
Difference at the ceiling
45 F cooler
Typical measured range for a Valley attic on a hot afternoon. Your own numbers depend on ventilation, insulation and pitch, and we will tell you what to expect before you buy anything.
That gap is the whole argument. Air conditioning does not fight the sun, it fights your attic, and an attic running forty degrees cooler is a smaller bill every afternoon of the summer for as long as the roof lasts.
Title 24 now sets minimum reflectance for most re-roofs in this state, so the compliance part is not a favour we are doing you. What we bring to it is having specified this material since before it was required, which means we know which products actually hold their reflectance after five summers and which ones quietly stop performing.
It also changes what we recommend. Sometimes the honest answer is a targeted repair rather than a new roof, and sometimes it is a full installation in a lighter system. We will say which, and why, in writing.

The record, and the licences behind it
Every mark below is twenty five finished roofs in Los Angeles. We would rather show you the count than tell you we are experienced.

Roofs completed in Los Angeles
One mark equals 25 roofs
2,400 roofs completed across Los Angeles and the surrounding areas.
CSLB 1100046
Active California contractor licence, in our own name, verifiable on the state board register.
Bonded and insured
Full liability and workers cover. Certificates go out with the estimate, not on request afterwards.
GAF certified
Trained and audited on the shingle systems we install, which is what makes the manufacturer warranty stand.
Owens Corning preferred
Preferred contractor status on their roofing systems, held by a fraction of the roofers in this county.
Title 24 compliant
Every specification meets the state energy code, and we handle the certification paperwork ourselves.

What you can hold us to, in writing
A guarantee that only exists in conversation is not a guarantee. Here is what goes on the document you sign, and what happens if the roof does not behave.

Terms issued with every estimate
A twenty year workmanship warranty. Ours, separate from whatever the manufacturer covers on the material, and it stays with the property rather than with you.
A written scope before any money moves. Materials named by product, deck repair priced by the sheet, and a fixed figure. If we find rot underneath, you see the photograph and approve the extra before we carry on.
If it leaks, we come back. Inside the warranty, a leak traced to our workmanship is our cost and our problem. No inspection fee to be told it was our fault.
No payment before work begins. You pay against progress, on the schedule printed in the scope, and the balance only once the final sweep is done and you have walked the property.
